Planning permission to convert the existing Plough and Horses Public House into 12 residential units, including 4 affordable units, was granted in June 2016 after an extensive planning application process. The building formally comprised of the pub, large scale dining and entertainment facilities and letting accommodation.

During pre-application discussions, the Local Planning Authority was satisfied that the community needs of the town would be maintained if the redevelopment of the pub took place.

The application was submitted in February 2016 and approved in June 2016. Since then, ASP has worked with the applicant and a number of subconsultants to prepare the information required to discharge the conditions.
